028 Handling Your Legal And Financial Business - Dating after Divorce
During my own divorce this was the part that I probably found the hardest in the end. By the time my marriage ended I'd dealt with the emotional side of things to an extent, but I wasn't prepared for the avalanche of paperwork and stress the actually legal process brought – on top of dealing with my financial situation at the time. It went on for around 2 years, even as I was in a new relationship. And at times it caused a huge amount of ongoing stress between me and my new partner.Don't underestimate the effect legal and/or financial issues can have on your capacity to date and build a new relationship. The reality of divorce these days mean that the person you are dating may even be going through something similar at the same time.In today's video I share with you 3 crucial steps to have your own legal and financial business handled to make sure it doesn't sabotage or affect a future relationship.Today's assignment1. Listen to the episode2. Get clear on your current legal and financial situations.3. Identify your personal action steps to empower yourself in dealing with unresolved legal issues, your current financial situation and your financial future.4. Look back on your Life Legacy Worksheet from Workshop 1 in which you completed the Finances/Livelihood section and remind yourself of what you want your future to look like in this area.
Remember – the way you take control of your financial situation as a single person will set the standard for the way you handle your finances in a future relationship and/or new marriage.
